Leading at a Higher Level

Principal and Executive Vice President
The Ken Blanchard Companies

The most effective leaders realize that leadership is not about them and that they are only as good as the people they lead. These leaders seek to be servant leaders, not self-serving leaders. Leading at a Higher Level means learning how to create a culture in which leaders are grounded in humility and focused on the greater good. It’s creating an organizational mindset where both people and profits grow and thrive. In this opening session, Scott Blanchard described how to create this both/and philosophy by focusing on four key elements: 1) Setting your sights on the right target and vision; 2) Treating your people right; 3) Treating your customers right; and 4) Having the right kind of leaders. Scott shared how a compelling vision and purposeful approach creates a strong organizational culture in which everyone’s interests and energy are aligned.
